Our Story

The beginning

When we started using Business Catalyst as a small agency, we knew we were onto something that was unique and time saving. We found that all of a sudden we were able to move ahead quickly on a large number of our customer websites and continue to deliver a great product at the same time.

It was all sunshine and lolly pops. We fell in love with Business Catalyst. It had so many features and made it fast and easy to deliver many common requests at unheard of prices for our customers.

A nagging little problem arises

As we ventured more into the product we came across what seemed to be a bothersome problem with member-based websites. Trying to locate our customers in the backend was very hard and sometimes impossible. And I'm a software developer.

As we moved to more CRM-based business, we found that when we showed clients how to use the CRM they had a lot of difficulty coming to grips with the interface and understanding its relevance to their everyday business. It was then that we started to look at the API to see what we could do to help our customers.

When we landed a large retail customer in conjunction with a marketing partner, we needed to deliver a lot of CRM heavy features and we ended up working quite intensively with the API to achieve this. It worked out better than we thought it would and we ended up with the basis of SimplaCRM - a very simple and powerful customer-centric interface for Business Catalyst that was easy to use. Feedback from all our customers that used it was very positive and an excellent catalyst for us to move ahead.

Our first extension for Business Catalyst is born!

That was when we decided to convert our work into a solid commercially viable customer-centric product extension for Business Catalyst that would help other agencies and businesses that had come across similar problems using Business Catalyst.

The result is SimplaCRM - a very simple and powerful customer-centric interface for Business Catalyst that is intuitive and easy to use. Although it is currently in Beta we have had a lot of great feedback from which we are further improving the product. We are looking forward to releasing a great product that will make Business Catalyst better. We hope that you'll agree that it helps your business too.
